Andrew D. Tsu

In his business, commercial, and real-estate litigation practice, Mr. Tsu represents banks and borrowers, among others. Mr. Tsu also drafts documents for complex real-estate transactions and orchestrates major real-estate closings.

Andrew D. Tsu is an attorney at Spach, Capaldi & Waggaman, LLP, having joined the firm in early 2010. Mr. Tsu is a broadly-experienced litigation and transactional attorney.  

In his business, commercial, and real-estate litigation practice, Mr. Tsu represents banks, creditors, developers, owners, borrowers, and general contractors in matters ranging from contract disputes, guaranty actions, lender liability claims, and internal owner disputes to fraud and other tort actions. Mr. Tsu is highly experienced in drafting the entire spectrum of court pleadings, including motions for summary judgment, demurrers, default packages, discovery-related motions, and post-trial motions. Mr. Tsu has handled a variety of matters through mediation, arbitration, state trial court, the state appellate process, and federal district court.

Mr. Tsu has drafted transactional documents for complex commercial real estate transactions, including purchase and sale instruments, covenants, conditions, and restrictions, easements, title documents, and financing documents, joint venture agreements, development agreements, and others. He has orchestrated, managed, and closed major real-estate acquisitions and financings.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Tsu was in-house counsel for a southern California land developer that owned, developed, managed, and operated many types of assets, including a 500-acre mixed-use development featuring residential, commercial, and office components. The project, Dos Lagos, featured several sustainable development features, such as the first Platinum LEEDS certified Class-A office space in western Riverside County. His real-estate transactional experience has led him to work closely with state and local government agencies.

Mr. Tsu graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 2001 with a BA in English.  He received his J.D. from U.C. Hastings in 2006. Mr. Tsu was a member of Hastings’s International Business Law Review Journal and he received an award for best oral argument in Moot Court.
